Meeting my ride companion, Elegia, for the first time at Ducati Milwaukee.

Talk about a monumental day for the Destination X Ride. Picking up this beautiful beast of a bike, the Multistrada 1200 S. She will be accompanying me on this ride of a lifetime. An adventure and then some. And yes, her name would be Elegia. She is named after one of my favorite songs by New Order.

I would like to thank Tyler and the rest of the Ducati North America team for making this ride and dream possible. Also, a big thanks goes out to Joe and the rest of the Ducati Milwaukee gang for receiving and prepping the bike for the ride. You truly went above and beyond.

Tyler Dollard(Ducati North America), Elegia and me.

Joe Meinerz(Ducati Milwaukee), Elegia and me.

After all the details of the bike hand-off were complete, I rode off filled with a million emotions. Well, at least six or seven anyway. It became less surreal and more real that this ride has come to fruition. I will be continuously pinching myself every mile of this dream ride.

Here is a link to the New Order song Elegia if you’d like to take a listen:
