First leg of the ride altered by Colorado wildfires.

While I sit here waiting for my sister to get out of surgery I thought I’d announce that the first leg of the Destination X Ride has been affected by the postponement of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb due to the wildfires ravaging the Colorado Springs area. My heart and prayers go out to the 32,000+ people who have been forced from their homes by the devastating barrage of wildfires. The Hill Climb will hopefully be rescheduled later this summer.

I am currently spending time with with my sister during her surgery and recovery. During this time I will be coming up with a new plan for the first leg of the ride. I will be keeping you all updated when my new first leg plan is fully developed.

Below is a link that gives more information on the wildfires and Hill Climb:

I need to go now, just got word that my sister Kim is out of surgery and her surgeon is on his way down to give us the results. Deep breath, here goes.

      Hey Don,

I hope all is well in your world. Kim’s surgery went well. Though, the MS is making her recovery go slow and painfully. Ugh. The Hill Climb has been rescheduled for August 12th. I’m heading west on Tuesday, July 17th. I’m doing good. Just oh-so-ready to get on the road. Perhaps we can talk before I shove off.

      All the best,
